About Us
We are a farm-based curiosity shop and creative retail brand. We travel to markets across North Carolina carrying botanicals, books, art, vintage objects, jewelry, charm assemblages, home goods, and the Little Tree Book.
We contain multitudes.
Little Tree Farm is hard to categorize. That's intentional. We carry things that are beautiful, unusual, or worth having — and we don't limit ourselves to one kind of thing. A very good fern. An antiquarian book. A charm assemblage made from found hardware. An original illustrated story about a little tree and some robots. All of it is us.
How we got here.
Little Tree Farm started as a farm. It became something harder to name — part market vendor, part curiosity shop, part small press, part botanical source. We kept adding things that felt true to what we were, and eventually we stopped trying to explain it and just let it be what it is.
We travel to markets because we like the directness of it. You can hold the thing. We can tell you where it came from. There's no algorithm between us and the people who want what we carry.
Everything we bring to a market is chosen. Not curated in the vague marketing sense — actually chosen, by hand, because we thought it was worth carrying. That's the standard.
A few things we think are true.
Things should be chosen, not assembled.
We don't carry things because they fill a category. We carry them because they're genuinely good — unusual, well-made, or worth having for reasons that are hard to articulate but easy to feel.
Slow is fine.
We grow things. We make things by hand. We wrote a book about patience. We are not in a hurry, and we don't think you should be either.
Markets are the right format.
We like the directness of selling at markets. You see the thing. We're there. There's a conversation. That's how it should work.
One of a kind is a feature, not a limitation.
Most of what we carry exists once. We think that's better. It means the thing you found is yours in a way that a restocked SKU never could be.
